Staff

Our guides are trained to give you the adventurous, authentic and safe Off The Path experience you are looking for. They do not guide overseas merely for a free vacation. All of our staff are abroad for one reason: they love the country they are guiding. Your guide will have a nuanced understanding of each location, from the history, spirituality and culture to the economics and architecture.

Alex Martin- Founder, co-owner, business operations, international tour developer and guide

Alex has been living and working overseas since 2005. In that time, he has developed, managed, and led cultural, adventure, and educational tours in Thailand, India, and Bhutan. He has also worked as a translator in Thailand. Alex has worked closely with Garieng and Burmese refugees in Thailand in addition to other human rights causes in Asia. Alex is an experienced traveler who has been to over twenty-five countries and he always travels on a local level. He has trekked in the Himalayas, hitch-hiked across Siberia and Mongolia and explored the lesser traveled places in Tibet. His passion is watching the transformation that occurs in the people he guides while exposing them to other cultures. Alex graduated from Prescott College with a degree in Experiential Cultural and Regional Studies and speaks fluent Thai.

Justin Martin- Co-owner, media and marketing director

Film work, community outreach, research projects and an insatiable appetite are among the many reasons Justin Martin has found himself overseas over the years. He has filmed and traveled in over twenty-five countries. Justin’s favorite trip was an eight month overland route from the west coast of Europe to the east coast of Asia using solely local transportation.

Colin Blevins- International guide

Colin is the kind of guy who’s at his best when his life revolves around a single backpack and Indian train schedules. Traveling internationally since he was fifteen he’s only spent three winters in the last decade at home in the Pacific Northwest and somehow managed to earn a BA in Experiential Education from Fairhaven College in Bellingham, WA. Over the last five years he has been guiding and designing academic study abroad programs in South East Asia, China, and India. Colin’s interests while traveling lie in food systems (and food), environmental issues, culture, adventure, and anything to do with two wheels.
